This Vancouver band made beautiful, brilliantly improvised music for nearly a decade, gaining fans across North America. Parallel to fellow Canadians Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Do Make Say Think, Beans carve out intimate spaces in the midst of crafty experiments, post head space music. Beans had a previous full-length on Zulu Records and appeared on compilations by Fat Cat Records and KXLU. In Fall 2001 they performed a continuous 48 hour show. Necessary and a foundational piece in the Zum catalog, out of print on CD.
Beans singer/guitarist Tygh Runyan is an actor who you may have seen in films like Snakes On A Plane. Multi-instrumentalist Ida Nilsen performs as Great Aunt Ida.
