"Fragments of Light" documents seven years of creative dialogue between Purl (Ludvig Cimbrelius) and Ecovillage (Emil Holmström & Peter Wikström). Their journey began with a spontaneous meeting in Los Angeles during October 2019, evolving into a transcontinental process where Ludvig refined ideas from three different continents at different times while Emil and Peter furthered their ambient dreaming in northern Sweden. Sonically the album inhabits a space between pop ambient and new age—combining atmospheric textural depth with melodies, while carrying forward the contemplative nature central to the artists' work and personal lives. Ecovillage, who has collaborated with many revered artists (such as Laraaji, Carlos Niño, and Fennesz) here pour their own deep sensibilities into the ever widening river of Purl—this initial, ambient-rooted alias of Ludvig Cimbrelius. Featuring original. hand-painted artwork and delicate mastering for a limited vinyl release via LILA लीला.
