Illuvia’s first offering on the artists self-initiated label project LILA लीला is perhaps the most fairytale-esque out of all releases in the vast discography emerging since the moniker’s debut in 2017. Never intended to stay bound by genres, on Chandra’s Dream Illuvia breaks free from any stylistic expectations born out of previous successes. Thoughtfully titled, this album explores the dance between sun and moon—light and dark—through a set of dreamlike variations on themes set forth in the early days of Illuvia. Whether journeying along the paths of jungle/drum & bass, techno, house, ambient or broken beat, Illuvia continues to bravely explore the outer edges of atmospheric dance music—explorations generating records that sound like nothing else out there.
